The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is an agency within the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) that provides financial and technical assistance to local public transit systems.

DRPT is a state agency that reports to the Secretary of Transportation.  Our focus is the movement of people and goods throughout the Commonwealth, and our primary areas of activity are rail, public transportation, and commuter services.

Triad was first conceived in 1988 when representatives from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the InternationalAssociation of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Sheriffs’ Association(NSA) came together and agreed to partner to help ensure senior safety.

CTAV was formed to bring together transportation providers, agencies using transit, transportation vendors and any other transit concerned individuals to improve mobility for everyone across Virginia.

Founded in 1977, the Virginia Transit Association (VTA) provides public education and legislative advocacy to support public transportation systems throughout the Commonwealth.
